Well, I must say our latest guest does look jaunty, although whether she will stay that way is another matter.  These Starkadder Sisters certainly started a fashion for head gear. All our guests now arrive wearing hats. As you know, some of them stay too.
And not just Skipper Jane, our book club has another addition… crow
Crow. I am sure he will have much to say re this week’s read. Almost as much as Taliano, Tibbs and Saw Tooth Dog had to say re Milady Lange’s latest book. That is of course provided Myrtle leaves him be. I fear Milady Lodge may have to arrange that wedding instead of mine. Certainly he has brought some lovely recipes, I will be sharing with you all.
Anyway here we are today in Lunenburg,
conva most charming place in Nova Scotia, I am astonished to hear featured in the War of 1812, as indeed did Flint, although he might not have been on that side…..  So, with no more ado….let us welcome the lovely Milady Donahue. Gracious..do you know her first name is Crystal?  A good job these scurvy Starkadder Sisterhood wenches have all left…well. most of them anyway…..pirates and jewe We should not like Milady Donahue taken for one of them.
Felicitations on seeing you in our little stopover today here in Lunenburg, a charming place in Nova Scotia. Can you tell us something about your journey from your homeland?

Thanks for allowing Weston, Drew, and I to join you today. The pleasure is all ours! We travelled by land and by sea, I’ve travelled a great distance from the Home of the Brave and the Land of the Free to visit with you. Winter weather has made the journey bumpy and cold but I’m happy to report we’ve arrived in one piece.

Well, how nice to hear that. Let us just hope you stay that way too. The crew are making you welcome I trust?

Most definitely, we could easily grow accustomed to being spoiled like this.conv

A barrel each. How nice to know. And you have brought me a pleasing little gift I see. conv

This, my dear friend, is a solid golden putter. It entitles the owner to unlimited rounds of putt-putt golf at our family course. You’ll no doubt find miniature golf, as it is also known, to be quite the relaxing and enjoyable pastime. Should your travels bring you by our homeland, I do hope you’ll stop by and partake in it at your leisure.

Well, I do not know about that but any nonsense from Flint and this will be most useful. Now Milady Crystal, you  have met the charming members of the club. Can you tell us why we  should each of us spend a week reading your book?

Above Par is a sweet, romantic comedy that is sure to please readers of all kinds. It’s not your average New Adult novel. If you’re looking for something a bit different, this is the book for you.

Well, the gentlemen are not exactly New Adults, but I am sure they will give it their all. Already you can see them attempting to stare up your heroine’s pretty skirt  but not to worry, I will give it my full attention, especially as your cover is so pretty.

While I think I have cured Flint of eyeing other women, he is still a great one for eyeing everything else. He calls it booty. Is there anything I should do to disabuse him of helping himself to other people’s boats and their contents? Already we have four gondolas aboard. And I do not like the way he is eyeing that famous schooner.
convIt would not be the first famous ship he has …borrowed… Indeed it might be the third or fourth…..

Men and their toys…I fear there is nothing to be done to end this obsession of his. I do so hope it’s not his way of *ahem* compensating for other lesser qualities. Although, from what I’ve heard, that surely isn’t the case!

Oh, indeed. Mama’s kitchen https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mamas-Kitchen/431002043619495?fref=ts conv

most thoughtfully provided our fare today, largely because the pirates eschew the culinary arts for cutlass waving, drinking and frolicking on shore with wenches.  Do you have any tips for making them try at least to help my maid, Susan, in the galley? It is such a task and she gets quite fraught.

Oh dear, I’m afraid food and I are not good friends. As my family will tell you, I don’t cook, I heat food up. Weston, on the other hand, is quite the culinary master. He works to win over Drew with his cooking skills, of course you’ll have to read Above Par to see if it works or not.

Gracious. A gentleman who cooks. How divine. So long as his cakes don’t turn out like Shehanne’s I am sure Drew will be won over.

Lunenburg is lovely I am sure, with a Fisheries Museum and many nice ships….what sites—if any– do you intend visiting here when you leave the ship? Provided of course, you first sign a disclaimer that you never saw me, or Flint?conv

Consider it signed. I thought I might leave it in the hands of the locals to guide me in the direction of any interesting sites. They do, after all, know the area best. Any suggestions?

Well…not the Bluenose 11 unless you want to find yourself being held captive. I would stick with the galleries and eateries. The lovely historic houses even.

Thank you again for having us by! I wish you health, wealth, and safe travels!

Blurb:

There are no mulligans in love.

Even the upbeat Drew is starting to feel like she just drove her ball  down the unfairway.
Her luck takes a turn when she meets Weston, the  snarky geometry teacher. He’s smart, capable, dependable, and handsome—a real  hole in one. But even Weston has a few hazards of his own. Author Bio: Crystal Donahue has been fortunate to live all over the US, including Arizona, Hawaii, and Georgia but she currently resides near the Iowa/Illinois border with her tornado obsessed son and their mischievous cat, Brownie. She is a procrastinator of epic proportions, finds humor in almost everything, loves sarcasm and loathes washing dishes.

A 2004 graduate of Western Illinois University, Crystal has held several unique jobs including driving a Zamboni and being a relay operator for the hearing and speech impaired. While working as a claims adjuster she realized life is too short not to do something that makes you happy, so she quit her job to become a nurse. Between work and raising her son she somehow manages to find time to write too, usually to the detriment of her social life. Fortunately her friends and family are amazing so it isn’t much of an issue…yet.
