Well, such a few weeks it was there in Glencoe, I have to say thought that after reading what Milady Black said on Amazon UK…’Callm would sooner cut off your head, than ask politely that you get the hell out of his glen.’ I felt that perhaps we had, after all outstayed our welcome and that Shehanne was correct in her surmise about me and Milord Wolf.
And so today we welcome a very special, if somewhat ‘tweet’ challenged guest. Oh, don’t be silly, Myrtle has not written a book. Gracious! When she can’t read how would she possibly write?
No, today our guest is none other than the lovely Milady Ashlin joining us on Anargiri Beach, on the charming Greek island of Spetses, where certain members of the crew are already taking the tavernas by storm… Of course Spetses was once home to LADY naval commander laskarina Bouboulina…. worthy of a post I believe… But there we shan’t speak of that just now or the crew’s exploits. Instead we shall speak to the gentlemen Milady Ashlin has brought along…
Felicitations on seeing you in our little stopover today here in Anargiri Beach Spetses, Milord Bobby Davenport, hero of Pathfinder. Can you tell us something about your journey from your homeland?
We flew over in the de Havilland Mosquito. The best bloody plane in the world!
Gracious. Like Myrtle, also black and white.
We got chased by a couple of Messerschmitts but the Mosquito can do over four hundred miles an hour, and she’s made of wood, amazing. What do you mean I could bore for England with all the technical details? This stuff is fascinating!
But it was worth it? Flint ’s pirate crew are making you welcome I trust? Myrtle has not mistaken your plane for anything has she?
Well, no… Although I don’t think the crew understand us, they keep looking at us oddly and I’m getting worried! They do seem to like our uniforms though. They like Lewis’ a little too much, if you ask me.
Well, they are probably after wearing it. You have brought me a pleasing little gift I see.
No but Flint will soon find one. Now ……you have met all the charming members of the club. Can you tell us why they should each of them spend the week reading Milady Ashlin’s your book? Especially after her little Twitter typo where the Lady Fury bookclub became the Lady Furry bookclub, forcing us for a week alas, to look like this….
Ahem… Well……. World War 2 airmen in RAF uniforms. Classic planes, dangerous missions, life and death decisions. Not enough? Hmmm… let me think. Desperate, secretive lust in a time of high fear and tension. Still not enough? How about that lust turning into a love that makes us want more than just winning the war.
Hmmmm… I think you had us at……..uniforms …. While I think I have cured Flint of eyeing other women, he is still a great one for eyeing everything else. He calls it booty. Is there anything I should do to disabuse him of helping himself to other people’s boats and their contents? I mean he keeps saying it is for me….
Tell him he can have any other’ booty’ he wants but if he lays his hands on Lewis he’ll have to deal with me. I must have killed a lot of people during this war. Just saying.
It is all right your uniforms are perfectly safe with Flint. Flint will hardly wear a shirt.. Mama’s kitchen https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mamas-Kitchen/431002043619495?fref=ts
most thoughtfully provided our fare today, largely because the pirates eschew the culinary arts for cutlass waving, drinking and frolicking on shore with wenches. Do you have any tips for making them try at least to help my maid, Susan, in the galley? It is such a task and she gets quite fraught.
I’ll help her because any food would be most gratefully received! We’ve been living with food rationing for too long and there are only so many things you can do with a turnip. Oh you have a dirty, dirty mind!!!!!
Moi? Oh, not at all. Spetses is quite a charming place, what sites do you intend visiting here when you leave our ship? Provided of course, you first sign a disclaimer that you never saw me, or Flint ?
Well, I’m off to bomb Berlin in the morning, I wouldn’t recommend that. But I do have a dream of finding somewhere we can live in peace. Somewhere like the South Pacific island of Tegua. But first tell you what, that Bekiris Cave just over there, where the islanders hid from invaders looks worth a visit, and we do fancy a retsina or ten in Tasos Taverna first….
Amid the planes and bombs of World War Two, Bobby fights for a cause he fervently believes in, when events take a passionate turn with the arrival of a new pilot. Can Lewis offer him more than he thought possible?
During the Second World War, two airmen from Texas join the Royal Air Force, while America is still neutral. The attraction between them is immediate. Bobby, a navigator, has given up on thoughts of relationships, concentrating instead on the war he fervently believes in. Lewis, his new pilot, is full of life, passionate about planes and playing his part in the war.
They connect immediately with intense, but furtive, sex. Their bond grows during many tough raids and passionate nights, until Lewis pushes Bobby to admit how he feels. Bobby didn’t think love was a possibility. But now Lewis is here, real and offering everything he could never admit he wanted.
Can they have a future together during the war?
